Title: In The Clearing

1. He is unhappy with his life and is destroying himself. He doesn’t value life.
2. Father tells him that no son of his would be wasting away like that, and that the army would clean him up but even death would be more honorable than his life.
3. Hero is broken as we see in first image, He enlists and is sent to camp, his family doesn’t accept him.
4. His sergeant sees something in him and wont let him quit.
5. He slacks off in every way, costing his entire squad and getting them all in trouble.
6. He learns that if he wants to survive he is going to have to comply and work hard.
7. He makes a good friend.
8. Training
9. Learns he will be shipped to front lines.
10. The other army is setting up for large attack, they are still waiting on reinforcements and are outnumbered.
11. Bombardment of there position starts.
12. Doesn’t know if he is strong enough or ready for battle.
13. Sets up beside his friend and prepares for battle.
14. Opposing army doesn’t charge they slowly march into dead mans land ordered not to run or shoot. He strongly hesitates but eventually shoots and slaughters them.
15. He returns home to happy family and they rejoice to his good health and attitude. He realizes that he killed people no different than him and that he is a condoned murderer, he is never the same and cant forgive himself. Fades out slowly with a silent picture of him smoking in his chair starring off into distance while family is talking and being “normal” in background.
